Program Solicitation NSF 11-567 The new solicitation is the successor to solicitation, NSF 10-603 and differs in the following ways:
- It provides multiple year deadlines for the ADBC program.
- It deletes the request for HUB proposals. The HUB institution was established at the University of Florida, and an initial set of TCN awards was made from the 2010 competition. Information about those projects can be found below and through links on the NSF ADBC program site.
- It includes the Directorate for Geosciences, Earth Sciences Division, as a formal partner. The relevance of paleontological collections is more explicitly stated.
- It allows smaller requests from collections to become partners to existing networks in order to fill gaps in digitization under the research themes. See Proposals for Partners to Existing Networks (PENs) on the Program Solicitation.

For both TCN and PEN proposals, priority will be given to projects that:
- fill gaps in the effort to provide online access to specimen data for existing biological and paleobiological collections
- integrate with other ongoing digitization activities.
